The livingfacade.

Linea Slimline SF77 — the shutter and screen carrier EFS authored.

01

Before it became a system,it was a question.

A facade should not be applied after architecture.

It should define —

  • 01Rhythm
  • 02Depth
  • 03Proportion
  • 04Shade
  • 05Privacy
  • 06Presence
Architectural problem

The building needed a screen that could warm the wall at human scale, soften the glass behind it, and still disappear into the landscape at distance. The available catalogue did not offer that filter, so EFS authored the carrier.

02

Application sequence.

Full facade screen of fine vertical timber battens running below a concrete terrace edge
Full facade screen — a continuous run that gives the elevation rhythm and shade.
01 / 03

Full facade screen

A long run of vertical battens turns the living level into a measured screen. It gives shade and depth without making the facade feel closed.

Full-height operable timber batten shutters across a contemporary facade
Operable accent shutters — open for view, closed for one continuous facade language.
02 / 03

Operable accent shutters

At smaller openings, the same carrier becomes a shutter. Open, it reveals the glass. Closed, it returns the wall to a single rhythm: one installation, two visual states.

Backlit timber privacy screen beside exterior stairs and amber-lit stone at night
Backlit privacy screen — the facade becomes a lantern after dusk.

Backlit privacy screen

Where privacy matters, Linea filters the threshold. With concealed light behind the battens, the screen becomes warm and lantern-like after dusk.

03

A facade that getsmore beautiful with light.

By day, it reads as cut stone, concrete, and fine vertical timber. After dark, the same surfaces become backlit screens, amber wash, and glowing thresholds.

Night view of the same stone wall and stairs with the timber screen backlit and amber-washed
Daylight view of the stone retaining wall, stairs, and fine vertical timber screen with a cobblestone court

Skin / materialcredibility.

These figures follow Geolam WHS bar specifications for the timber skin used in this built configuration. They describe the skin, not Linea universally.

Triple co-extruded: wood-look skin, recycled-aluminium core, copolymer resin bond.

One profile, not a laminate: no delamination and no edge moisture path.

ASTM E84 Class A and declared non-combustible, IBC 2018.

10 years boards and 25 years concealed fasteners.

3x lighter, 4x more stable, and 8x more rigid than standard WPC.

Wash-down only: no seal, stain, oil, or retreatment.

Colourfast: no fading or greying.

05

One carrier.Three skins.

Choose the skin. Keep the carrier.

Linea Slimline SF77 is the EFS-authored shutter and screen carrier. Timber is the built reference. Stone and aluminium are configurable skins, engineered to change the architectural expression without changing the carrier — each one aluminium-cored, each one mounting to the same profile.
